Laurie MacNevin is an editor, writer, and researcher. She has been helping people figure out what they’re trying to say and say it effectively since 2008. She firmly believes that everything is a story and every story needs a good editor.

Laurie has a deep love of stories. In grade school, she used to get in trouble for reading under her desk when she was supposed to be paying attention. That love carried her all the way to university where she earned an Honours degree and a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Windsor. Her studies ranged from the history of bookmaking, through publishing, bibliography, rhetoric, and creative writing, along with the traditional literary readings and lots and lots of history.

Laurie is originally from Southern Ontario but she has lived in Manitoba for more than ten years. She has spent those years exploring the stories, landscape, plants, and people of some of the most remote parts of the province. She lived three years in Churchill, two years in God’s Lake Narrows First Nation, and now lives on an acreage outside of Carberry.

Right now, Laurie and her husband are busy raising their family of three children along with a dog, two cats, two bunnies, chickens, wildflowers, and vegetables. And she’s still reading and writing in every spare moment.

We rely on Laurie to make sure our booksblog posts, social media posts,  podcasts, and emails are clear, eloquent, and interesting; and she never fails to deliver.
